AutonoNav - Autonomous Navigation System for Unmanned Vehicles

TORC's AutonoNav™ builds on the ByWire™ module to enable varying levels of autonomy and control. Key features of the AutonoNav include optimized route planning, motion planning parameters entered via web-based interface, interfaces with common sensors such as LiDAR and GPS systems, and fully JAUS interoperable with other JAUS compliant products.

  • Route Planning: A-priori information based on the DARPA RNDF (Route Network Definition File) and MDF (Mission Definition File) determine an optimized route to designated waypoints.

  • Motion Planning: Waypoint navigation and obstacle avoidance command vehicle speed and direction. Vehicle parameters are entered through an easy-to-use web-based interface.

  • Compatible Sensors: The AutonoNav interfaces with common sensors such as LiDAR and GPS systems.

  • JAUS Interoperable: The AN-100 is JAUS interoperable which enables plug-and-play integration with other JAUS interoperable device

Overview

The AutonoNav™ rapidly converts ground and surface vehicle platforms from drive-by-wire to autonomous navigation. The AutonoNav™ interfaces to a JAUS-interoperable vehicle interface. Integrated closed-loop speed and steering control ensures precision vehicle control. A web-based interface allows the user to easily input the vehicle's physical parameters and hardware interface. The AutonoNav™ is JAUS-interoperable and seamlessly integrates with other JAUS-interoperable components such as sensors and payloads.

Key Features Include:

  • Route Planning: The AutonoNav™ process a-priori information based on the DARPA RNDF (Route Network Definition File) and MDF (Mission Data File) to determine a optimized route to designated waypoints.

  • Waypoint Navigation: A feed forward closed-loop controller ensures precision vehicle steering and speed control.

  • Vehicle Dynamics: Based on the defined vehicle dynamics, in addition to steering and speed control, auxiliary control such as engine start and stop, turn signals, and headlights can be controlled.

  • Compatible Sensors: The AutonoNav™ is JAUS (Joint Architecture for Unmanned Systems) interoperable which enables plug-and-plug integration with other JAUS interoperable devices.

  • Web-based Interface: An easy-to-use web interface allows the user to input vehicle parameters and configure the AutonoNav™ for specific vehicle requirements and rapid deployment.

Enable autonomous navigation on your ground or surface vehicle platform with the AutonoNav™
