TORC provides system integration services to our client to assist with rapidly integrating COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) components to provide a safe, robust, and reliable robotic system. Our engineers have integrated vehicle components such as vehicle platforms, sensors, and payloads/subsystems.
TORC engineers have designed and manufactured over a dozen UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) platforms from the ground up. In addition, our engineers have integrated with the following COTS platforms to convert these systems to teleoperated and autonomous control. For more information on converting platforms to drive-by-wire, check out TORC's ByWire™ product.

TORC engineers have integrated a variety of sensors into UGV and UAV platforms for teleoperated and autonomous control. In teleoperated control applications, these sensors provide visual information to increase the remote user's telepresence. In autonomous applications, these sensors feed directly into perception algorithms such as lane detection and object detection for quantifying a vehicle's environment. Our engineers have integrated the sensors listed below.
| Active Sensors | Passive Sensors |
| LIDAR Acoustic Infrared RADAR |
Vision Magnetometers Differential GPS Accelerometers Gyroscopes |
TORC engineers have integrated a variety of communication system into UGV and UAV systems. While technology has not provided a single communication system for all robotic applications, TORC engineers can assist in selecting and integrating a communication solution for your application. Our engineers have integrated the following communication systems into robotic systems:
| Frequencies | Protocols |
| 900 MHz 5.2 GHz 2.4 GHz |
802.11 WiFi 802.15.1 Bluetooth 802.15.4 Zigbee FHSS DSSS |
